When Life Gets In The Way

Published by Kelly at 12:31 pm under personal Edit This

With all the planning involved in my mom’s surprise party last week, everything else was put on the back burner.

This is a bad habit of mine; I don’t think I am alone on this either.

It seems that something always seems to become a priority over what I need and want to do for myself.

Planning mom’s party, helping take care of grandma, doing what I can to make things easier for my mom while she spends her time caring for my uncle, helping a friend, etc.

I don’t know how it happens, but the weeks just fly by and here I am with September approaching.  The summer has disappeared, though not nearly as quickly as last summer did.  That was gone in a flash.

My thinking about getting things on track is like so many others’ (especially with diets – you know I am right).  “As soon as this weekend is over, I will get on track.”  There is always an event that I am just waiting to get through.  This weekend, it is a quinceanera.  When that is over, I will get it together.

Let’s see how that goes!

Hey, come on now, dont be so hard on yourself! You have put so much time and energy into your mum’s birthday,it is only natural that you feel a bit flat. Take time to re energise, rest and reflect. You have done a terrific job….and..er..as far as dieting goes, Ihave been trying to get started for,um…about a year!! ha, ha,

Thanks, Rayne and kezza. I’ve been feeling off the last week, so I think I just need to recharge. I’m going to take the weekend to do that and then start fresh Monday.

I used to make a list of things I had to do each day, but I fell off of that track, so I think I need to start again to keep focused.
