My New Toy

Published by Kelly at 6:13 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I received a lot of nice gifts for my birthday.

I received clothes, a few books and a CD I wanted, money (which is always a nice gift) and this:

It is a Targus Laptop Cooling Chill Mat.  Basically, you plug it into a USB port on your laptop and little fans draw the heat away keeping your laptop and lap cool.

As a blogger and a writer, I am almost always on my laptop.  Probably 10 hours a day or more.  I get so hot because of the heat from the laptop.  I generally would keep a pillow under the laptop, but the heat still emitted and warmed me up too much for my taste.  This thing keeps my laptop and me cool all day!

I can finally sit and be comfortable while typing away.  Too bad I didn’t have it in the summer because I would get so hot with the heat outside and the laptop.  I am so glad I put this thing on my wish list!

Ahhh but now you can enjoy the warmth during the colder months knowing that the summer’s going to be a cool with that assisted breeze! What a great idea!

I have one of those, and it definitely helps. In fact, its probably one of the best purchases I’ve made outside the actual laptop purchase. :) enjoy and happy birthday!

Thanks, Tasha. I’m not sure I’d be comfortable putting it on a blog, especially while it’s still in the works. I’m pretty private about my writing, which annoys some of my friends and family, but that’s my writing style…. I have seen others do it and I think it’s a cool idea.

Kelly - I’m the exact same way. For many different reasons, but one of them is that I want it to be perfect before I allow them to read it. I participated in NaNoWriMo last year (and years before) but last year I actually almost finished a novel by the end of December. I perfected chapters as I went, and I let them read the first one. Well, they wanted more and I wasn’t ready. So go at your own pace. I’m all over the private thing. Good luck with it!

thanks, simplywriting. I am a perfectionist as well, so that adds to my wanting to hold out too!
