Is The Election Over Yet?

I will be so glad when this election is over.
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s been exciting and there have been some fun/funny moments. It will be an historic election with Obama taking office or Palin becoming VP. We’ve been seeing Obama and McCain go at it for a year. We’ve seen sexism at its worst towards Hillary.
It’s been going on for so long, though, that I am getting tired of hearing about nothing else.
I am tired of the ads and the slamming of the other candidate, some doing more slamming than others.
It’s not just the Presidential race, it’s state and local as well.
The state and local ads have been more negative than any Presidential ads. It’s disgusting and I am so tired of hearing these ads. It’s back to back too. One will finish and before you can process it, the other will start.
The annoying part is that 90% of the politicians in these ads are out of my district, so they get me all fired up and I can’t even vote for or against them.
The Presidential candidates at least discuss the issues in their ads, mainly the economy and taxes, but the local and state ads do nothing but attack each other’s character.
I have not done the early voting thing. I will vote on Tuesday. My choice has been made for a long time, I just prefer to vote on the 4th. My sister did vote early because she thought if the lines are long Tuesday (which they probably will be especially with a 70 degree forecast), her 3 year-old would not want to cooperate for hours.
I am excited for Tuesday and to see the outcome, I am just tired of hearing the ads. I will be so happy next weekend and it’s all over.

Hawg, I think it’s because the season has lasted over a year….normally it’s just a couple of months and that is more than enough, but this has been going on soooo long!
I’m glad I’m not alone in my distaste for all of it!
For people outside the U.S.A,the length of your camaigns
seems crazy,no wonder you are all fed up.
Do any of you find the amount of money spent obscene????
kezz, yes. I do. I know they have to spend money to win because the candidates that didn’t have the funding in the primary were virtually unknown.
At the same time, I think of the millions of dollars spent by everyone and wonder how many families could be fed or given health care.
I am sick of the ads and bickering as well so I’ll be so happy tomorrow when it’s over.
Karen, I was thinking the same thing last night. It would be nice if they all had the same chance because some really smart people have been looked over from lack of $ for campaigning.
