The Vampires Sucked Me In
The other day I posted about the movie/book Twilight. I was only about 130 pages into the book at that time and I said that I did not want to stop reading but I didn’t feel the need to rush back to it to read more.
Well, that has changed.
Not only am I still not wanting to put it down, I am eager to get back to it to find out what happens next.
I have been reading at night when I go to bed, which is always a bad idea because if I like the book, I end up going to sleep at midnight instead of 11:00.
Not with this book.
I have been reading since Tuesday; starting Thursday night, I have been so intrigued by the story that I have been staying up until 2:00 am. Last night it was about 2:30 when I finally fell asleep.
Of course, I don’t allow myself to sleep past 9:30, so I am pretty tired. I am itching to get back to the book and am intending to buy the second book in the series today or tomorrow.
I am not going to discuss the details of the book because I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who might want to read it, so I will just say that initially it was a good story with a lot of interesting dialogue and it was very sweet. It has become very exciting and currently is suspenseful.
If you like romance and suspense, I think you will like this book. Thus far (about 400 pages in), it is not a vampire story like we are used to, so if you are squeamish or not into scary stories, I think you might still enjoy this because I don’t like scary stories either.
- The Vampires Sucked Me In
- I’d Rather Not Pay That Close Attention to the People Around Me
- Peepee in the Potty makes me happy
- Junior Year of High School i turned in this story for my morality class i was almost kicked out of school and they made me go see a psychologist for a year and the teacher told me my words violated her
- My Last post was about being a “South Paw”, Today… how that affects me in the kitchen?

YAY!!!! Glad you decided to give the book a shot. Saw the movie yesterday and it’s very true to the book, I liked it alot. The girls as you can imagine, went Thursday at midnight to see it, then again with Nancy and I yesterday. It was fun.
Karina, I figured the girls would be there for the opening. I was looking for them on tv when they showed that story on the news.
Everything Blogs, vampires aren’t new, but I think they come & go in phases in the media. I like that most vampire things I have seen recently show the vampires as misunderstood and not inherently evil.
RollerKaty, thanks for that, I will have to read Midnight Sun. Thanks!
I am afraid to start reading the first book in this series… because I know I won’t be able to put it down! It’s good to know that it’s a great series. I’m definitely adding it to my Christmas list!
lindsay, the reason I bought the first book was because I thought if I liked it, I’d put the other 3 on my Christmas list, but I don’t know if I can wait until Christmas to read them all! I’m going out to get # 2 today!
Sounds like something I will like. I am going shoping for books this week and i will have to get the set, I think. Thanks.

Kat, I agree. The writing is not of a high caliber, but it is fun. I am nearly done with book 2 and I haven’t liked it as much as book 1, yet I can’t stop reading it! I have heard book 3 is the best. I’m looking forward to getting there. I just know that I now look like a vampire from staying up reading. Dark circles under the eyes, extra pale… :D
I read Twilight a few months ago and loved it! I kind of want to see the movie but I’m afraid I will be disappointed in how the book is portrayed. I kind of want to re-read the book before I read the second one. I’m in the middle of a Jodi Picoult book so maybe I will read Twilight again after I’m done.
loislane, I love Jodi Picoult too. She’s another one that can keep me up late reading.
